The UmhlangaJune 2, 2023

Now is your chance to prove it!

The North Star Micro Hotel will host the inaugural World KwaZulu-Natal Peri-Peri Chicken Championship, taking place at the North Star Micro Hotel on 8 July 2023.

The North Star Micro Hotel and Restaurant are excited about this initiative to gather our community for a day of fun, good food and good deeds.

The World KwaZulu-Natal Peri-Peri Chicken Championships is a cook-off-style event where twelve two-person teams will battle it out over the braai fires for the ultimate honour and a R10 000 first prize. A panel of talented celebrity judges will decide who makes the best Peri Peri chicken in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The event will also gather funds and supplies for three local charities. The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board, the Durban Child and Youth Care Centre and Save the Children will benefit from the North Star’s communities’ efforts and generosity. Along with the funds gathered – donations for the children’s charities – such as blankets, toiletries, food and toys will also be collected.

If you believe your Peri-Peri Chicken is the best in KwaZulu-Natal contact Greg ( +27 73 863 9523) to enter your team. An entry fee of R3000 per team is payable and will benefit the charities associated with the event.
