Aesthetics, a booming and specialised practice, encompasses but is not limited to cosmetic procedures, skincare, and beauty products. It has changed the way people approach their personal care and self-improvement. Always looking toward developing and improving their techniques, these doctors and technicians regard their clients with care and precision.
Founder of Beyond Skin, Dr Bhavna Singh is a Specialist Dermatologist. She has over 12 years of experience in Dermatology and provides professional and skilled services managing both adult and paediatric medical conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, hair loss, pigmentation, autoimmune conditions and skin cancers, to name a few. In addition, she is skilled at performing minor surgical procedures and aesthetic dermatology. She heads a multidimensional team of ladies with various skill sets focusing on general medical health, skin and aesthetics. This encompasses the practice EmporiDerm, which she took over in 2023, as a whole and she still maintains her brand Beyond Skin.
“My job involves dealing with something that is so important to a person—their appearance—it’s a gratifying and humbling feeling when you make a difference. I am passionate about healthy skin and endeavour to always provide patient-centred care,” Dr Bhavna explains.
The most requested medical treatment is mole-mapping for skin cancer detection and then removal of skin cancers or benign growths via cryotherapy, cautery, or excision. Then, most requested cosmetic treatments are the medical grade chemical peels and SkinPen microneedling. When it comes to non-surgical aesthetic treatments, neurotoxin (‘Botox’) and thereafter dermal fillers are what the team handles. Even though Dr Bhavna isn’t currently offering any laser therapies, she aims to invest in a device, in particular, the InMode with light, laser, and radiofrequency devices e.g. Morpheus8 and IPL to expand the range of her offerings for patients.
Open since 2023 by Lwazi Mathenjwa, Idiosyncratic Aesthetic is a medical and beauty aesthetic practice. Wanting to help people with their skin and bodies, they utilise advanced technological equipment that ensure patients achieve the best results.
Rest assured that a visit to Idiosyncratic Aesthetics will see you having any skin and weight concerns addressed. This is a gender-neutral practice that welcomes everyone and a diverse range of treatments to accommodate them. Treatments include laser, IV drip therapy, tattoo removal, skin tags, weight loss with fat freeze and fat dissolve injections, muscle growth, hair loss with microneedling, and chemical peels.
Due to its versatile nature their most famous treatments would be the IV drip therapy and weight management treatments. In the near future, they are looking at including Botox and fillers in their treatment offering since they are the most requested treatments from patients. In this industry, you’re always learning something new and listening to the needs of clients can help to determine which courses to register for regarding that treatment. Idiosyncratic makes sure that they adhere to these requests and add on accordingly.
Founded with the intention of encouraging women to be more confident by being hair-free, Lovemore Aesthetics and Kate Lovemore love making a difference in their clients’ lives. Realising that the laser treatments alone don’t work on everyone, Kate introduced electrolysis which works better, especially on people with lighter hair colours. She ventured to offer a safe space where clients can feel comfortable getting their treatments done and leave feeling beautiful and more assertive.
Since the chin area is very hormonal and often has the thickest hair, that is one of the most common problem areas Kate treats. Electrolysis is the only 100% FDA approved permanent hair removal treatment where you use a tiny probe and treat each hair individually with a tiny electric pulse to kill the “food factory” that feeds the hair. She also removes skin tags, milia, broken capillaries on the face, cherry angiomas, and more. Working with transgender clients, she helps them start their transition journey by working on their facial hair and other areas to get them ready for the gender reassignment surgery.
To expand her offering, Kate is currently looking to add holistic massages and specialised anti-ageing facials. She often speaks to people who have done certain treatments to gain insight on what she learns to help her clients in a less invasive way. She uses her own experience to recommend the best courses of treatment to her clients.
Having a background in makeup artistry, Kiyara’s curiosity and interest in the beauty industry led her to expand her expertise and establishing K.sthetique Beauty and Skin. She wants to cater to a whole range of people, from the mother who has no time to do her makeup to the person struggling with hair loss due to alopecia. Kiyara believes that beauty goes beyond skin deep and women investing in themselves is the greatest revolution.
Specialising in permanent makeup, one of the most requested techniques are the soft ombre brows which is a customisable permanent eyebrow procedure suitable for most skin types and ages! This look can be tailored to match any looks you’re going for. A treatment Kiyara would love to introduce to her practice is the areola paramedic tattoo. These are for women who have undergone mastectomies and this will help with any scarring left over from the procedure. She feels honours to be part of the process that gives women their confidence back and improves their body image.
Kiyara is committed to continually updating and improving her treatments to keep up with the ever-evolving trends in the beauty and aesthetics industry. By refreshing her skills, she takes pride in being able to accommodate a wide range of concerns for her clients.
