Two of your local male coaches share the importance of yoga, how it has helped them and how it can help you internally, mentally, and emotionally.
For Ryan, yoga was just a means of keeping flexible; however, when he became a young adult, it started to become much more. His yoga teachers all imparted wisdom and the full extent of yoga, which goes far beyond just asana (postures). Life doesn’t give us a heads-up for when we are confronted with mental, emotional or physical challenges. In his darkest hours, remaining in his power to choose his response and not being enslaved by reactions always got him through them. Success is the result of a healthy body, mind, and heart. “We can’t heal that which we ignore, and yoga is all about becoming familiar with what needs healing.” Yoga clears the mind and body so we can find our true potential. You are so much more than that story. We all need a safe, healthy way to heal and quieten that voice in our heads.

When Shaun and his wife were looking for something fun and active to do together, one of their friends, who is also a yoga teacher, invited them to join a class. And it just so happened to be a Bikram class, and he was hooked from the start. Strong guys were dropping into Child's Pose (a resting posture everyone was invited to move into if they were battling, to rejoin when they are ready). “By the end of the class, I had moved, stretched, twisted and worked in every part of my body, and felt great. This was just over six years ago, and my yoga practice has progressed from enjoying the postures, to all the other benefits that come with the eight ‘limbs’ of yoga; such as breathwork, meditation, withdrawal of the senses, awareness of how I treat myself and others.” For those who feel caught in the rat-race, tired most of the time, quick to anger and frustration, overwhelmed, anxious ... Yoga is a great practice (tool) to learn to overcome life's obstacles, and even yourself.
