Gateway Theatre of Shopping is firing up for the festive season with a never-seen-before nautical surprise for the younger kids.
“It’s something completely different, designed especially for us,” says Gateway Theatre of Shopping General Manager, Feysel Potgieter. “At the same time, elements of it are very local and recognisable,” he continues with a hint of mystery.
“uMhlanga is a sizzling hot summer holiday spot, where visitors and locals hit the beaches to relax, let loose and play. “We’re bringing a scoop of that up on the ridge to share with our visitors,” says Potgieter.
Making use of the spectacular outdoor expanse at the revamped Palm Court, visitors to Gateway Theatre of Shopping may have caught a glimpse of some undercover activity underway.
“What we have conceptualised and is being brought to life is not just for the festive season. It will be a permanent attraction in the Palm Court,” says Potgieter. “Younger kids between 4 and 10 years old will be completely enthralled by what we have created, while their parents relax and enjoy a meal.”
Taking the Covid-19 protocols into account, the area will be safe and has the major benefit of being outdoors in the fresh air.
“We are aiming to unveil this fantastic fishy addition to our festive range of fun things for kids on 1 December. Watch the media and our social platforms for more details,” says Potgieter.
A Marine Mystery: Gateway Theatre of Shopping GM, Feysel Potgieter and Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley, invite visitors to guess what nautical kids delight is under construction in the Palm Court.
